Earlier this year, Rachel Jack released her debut EP The Calgary Tapes, five acoustic folk songs, created while completing a Songwriting Scholarship from local musician Paolo Nutini. The EP immediately gained airplay on BBC the Roddy Hart Show on BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio, Rapal on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, BBC Social as well as scores of features in publications such as Scotland On Sunday, The Press & Journal and Tenement TV.
Her latest single For You is taken from her second EP Magazine Girls and has been played several times by Phoebe I-H and Shereen Cutkelvin on the new BBC Introducing in Scotland show as well being added to Spotify's playlists, UK POP "future favourite pop stars" and Scotiy "The best new sounds from Scotland." Drenched in shimmery, saccharine optimism, and inspired by alternative electro-pop royalty such as CHVRCHES, La Roux, Robyn, and Lorde, it signals a significant departure in style from her folky debut. Former classmate, DUNT (Stanley Odd, Shears) is on production duties.
